Well, Seacrest said the bottom 3 was going to be “shocking” and he was right, if only because Bo was in it…

As for my predictions, I was wrong on 2 of the 3 (Anwar & Carrie) & right on 1 (Nadia). I was also right in predicting that Nadia would be eliminated. A mixed bag, but I guess it’s better to get the end result right, no?

With a bottom 3 of Scott, Bo, & Nadia, I would’ve preferred to see Scott go, but I have no problem at all with Nadia going if it means that Bo gets to stay. I just hope he does a better job of selecting a song, and that his fan base gets the wakeup call (much like those of Ruben & Fantasia when they were in the bottom 3 at similar stages of the competition during their runs to the top). If all goes like it should, the next 3 eliminations should be easy ones, with (in no particular) Anwar, Scott & Anthony going home. That would leave a final 4 of Bo, Carrie, Constantine, & Vonzell, and that would be a stellar final four indeed.

That would be my prediction, as well. Do you also get the feeling that Constantine has it in the bag, so far?

Don’t know why I care, but this year’s competition sure gained my audience.

You know, I can’t really get a handle on this season. In season 3, it was pretty clear that Fantasia was going to win. Season 2 was obviously the Ruben & Clay show, and Kelly was the clear standout in season 1.

This year, I think that the talent level of the top 8 (if not the top 10) is such that no one is standing out on a consistent basis because they’re all so good. IOW, the fact that they’re all so good is the reason that no one has broken out & pulled ahead of the pack. That makes song selection almost imperative, as we saw with Nadia and (to a lesser exent) and Bo.

It also helps that this group is very likable bunch, as people, with no real polarizing personalities.

It is certainly compelling & enjoyable!
