Sad, but True

From Dr. Al Mohler’s blog

Mainline Protestantism will reach a certain point where it will appeal only to Wiccans, vegetarians, sandal-wearers, and people who play the recorder. No one will feel at home there if they believe in God.

This is a strong, even harsh, assessment. It is also a true & accurate one.

It saddens me that the ELCA is now, for all intents and purposes, a “Mainline Protestant” church body, for they claim to be Lutheran

It angers me that many in the LCMS wish for, and seem to be actively pursuing, a course of action that will result in the LCMS joining this morass of mainline mediocrity. Despite being 10-20 years behind the Mainline adoption curve, and thus being able to see the obvious (and often heretical) flaws & shortcomings, many LINOs (Lutherans In Name Only) within the LCMS so strongly covet things like numerical “growth” that they are willingly casting aside the true Spirit-given tools at our disposal. They seem not to care where we’ll end up, just so long as we’ll be part of the large crowd when we get there.

So sad, yet so true.
