R.I.P. (I Guess…)

Peter Drucker, the guru of all things management related, passed away yesterday at the age of 95.

Why am I blogging about this, you might be asking? Well, it’s because Drucker’s fingerprints are all over the blight known as the Church Growth Movement. [Google it here...]

Now, Drucker wasn’t the creator of CGM, but his management theories were/are undeniably influential in the development of CGM & the whole “pastor as CEO” mentality. Drucker had some good thoughts about management theory in the business world — I’ll gladly make that statement; however, I must state with equal-to-greater vigor that it’s a horrific thing that his theories infiltrated into the church.

May God (continue to) save us from our own management “expertise”!
