I expected it, but it was still disappointing to see the cute-as-a-button Lisa Tucker get sent home last night.

Fortunately, she seemed to have a great attitude about the whole experience, and I think she’ll be successful in the future, particularly if her voice ever fully grows into her looks & 1000 watt smile!
The only real interesting part of the results show, for me, was the angst that was manufactured by Katharine’s appearance in the bottom 3, and then in the bottom 2.

Was I shocked that the bottom 3 included Ace & Katharine? Not really — I predicted that Ace would be there, and while I predicted that Bucky would be there as well, that was not based on his performance, but rather on how I thought the voting/fanbases would react. Based solely on performance, I think that anyone in my grouping of The Rest could’ve justifiably been there. So, for that reason alone, Katharine’s inclusion didn’t shock me.

Neither did her being in the “bottom” two (I put bottom in quotes, because I’ve never been able to definitively track down that the person sent back to the couch is actually the “2nd runner down” as it were…). It made for the most dramatic TV moment, especially given the crowd reaction (which was I’m sure both coached and sincere) & Katharine’s obvious nervousness & fear.

But did I think she’d actually be eliminated? Nope. This wasn’t the week where we could’ve/should’ve expected a shocking (shocking, I tell you!) & outrage-inducing elimination. I’m thinking that might happen 2 or 3 weeks from now.

Anyway, I really hope they keep the 30-min. results show format for as long as possible, as it makes for a nice, tight, & enjoyable show.

Next Week: They’ll have both kinds of music — Country and Western!
Note: Someone had better be able to give me the movie that’s paraphrased from…

I can only imagine how cranky Simon will be!
