Rappin’ *freaking* Granny?!?
America’s Got Talent is dead to me. DEAD, I tell you!
It was bad enough last week, when the judges put the contest’s credibility in danger by risking the most talented act of the night (At Last) just so that Piers could make some bogus stand on having variety in the finals.
This week, it got worse. Much worse…
The judges put through Rappin’ Granny. Rappin’ FREAKING Granny?!?

This show has now lost whatever little bit of credibility that it had built up in my eyes. Granted, it wasn’t all that much, but still, c’mon!
Now, as a result of this blatant attempt at making some sort of horrifically misguided “statement”, one of the two acts that deserved to get through to the finals (singer Bianca Ryan, despite her atrocious song choice, & magician Nathan Burton) will not make it.
I can only conclude that this contest is an insulting sham. If I watch any more (and I probably will, for as I’ve mentioned to big sis on the phone, I’m drawn to this train wreck like a dog to its own vomit…) of AGT, it will only be to root for anyone & everyone but Rappin’ FREAKING Granny with every fiber of my being.
Thankfully, my faith in realitytv was restored shortly after the end of AGT, by the fabulously enjoyable show that is So You Think You Can Dance?, which was thoroughly enjoyable tonight.
Allison & Ivan were reunited to great success, with Allison once again proving that she is not only the best looking girl in the competition, she is also the best dancer of all the girls. Which is saying something, because Donyelle, Natalie, & Heidi are all beautiful girls & wonderful dancers.
The couple of the night, however, was clearly that of Heidi & Benji. These cousins proved that dancing must be a genetic trait, and one that is clearly very strong in their family! (How’d you like to see us try that with any of our cousins, sis? Not a pretty picture, is it?
) With their performance tonight, I think that the combination of Heidi’s strong effort & the halo effect of being Benji’s partner will carry her through to next week.
Unfortunately, I think that fiery little Natalie has reached the end of the line. She got hosed by getting a partner who should’ve been eliminated last week (Ryan), and who dragged her down in their disco number. She’s gorgeous & a graceful spitfire of a dancer, but I think that she’ll be leaving us as of the end of the results show tomorrow. *sigh*
So, SYTYCD? will live on, even as AGT is dead to me. And to be honest, that’s a trade-off that I have no problem at all living with!
