I just got my copy of this new study Bible, the HCSB Apologetics Study Bible. I’ve been reading the HCSB on & off for a while now, and for a new translation, it’s really pretty good. It’s not to the point yet where I would choose it as my main/only translation, that’s still the NKJV, but I haven’t found anything yet that would keep me from considering it as a viable candidate in the future.

The apologetics-related content looks to be quite interesting. As long as I’m able to run everything through a proper doctrinal/theological filter, I think that I will be able to squeeze some good use & value out of the additional material.

At the very least, working through & evaluating this new Bible will keep me occupied until such a time as CPH finally comes out with their long promised & highly anticipated ESV based Concordia Self-Study Bible (with completely rewritten study notes!).

Anybody have any ideas when the Long anticipated concordia ESV study bible comes out? I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now.

Per his comment here, Rev. McCain indicates that the ETA is Reformation 2009.

It does seem like it’s taking a rather long time…
