Krauthammer’s Razor: “In explaining any puzzling Washington phenomenon, always choose stupidity over conspiracy, incompetence over cunning. Anything else gives them too much credit.”
That’s actually something that I think could apply to most situations, not just those in D.C..
And it is, I think, in line with the 8th Commandment, because generally speaking, (passive) stupidity is less perjorative than (active) ill-intentioned conspiracy.
As I like to say, the road to Hell is the path of least resistance, and stupidity certainly likes to traverse that particular path…
