I should hope so, lest the investment in my post-secondary education have been in vain… ;^)

[HT: The Rebellious Pastor's Wife]
Certifiable
This is a great post over at Worldmagblog.
In a nutshell, it’s further evidence that schools of Education are amongst the largest threats to quality primary education in America today. I would add the NEA to that short list, and probably put it right at the top. It pains me to do so, having been raised by two public school teachers, including one who was a union bargainer. Unfortunately, however, the NEA stopped serving a valid worker-rights related purpose decades ago, and has devolved into being a socio-political tool of the leftist “intelligentsia”.
Certifications trump common sense. Methods & paradigms trump discipline-specific content knowledge & expertise. Educators triumph over plain old teachers. An undergraduate degree is the new high school diploma. Feel-good entitlement trumps objective & measurable achievement.
It’s no wonder government schools are in such an enfeebled & ineffective state…

Because most Americans are stupid
Americans Would Get Rid of Electoral College
Well, most Americans are stupid. But, then, that’s not a surprise is it?
Quote: “On Aug. 25, Democratic California senator Dianne Feinstein called for the abolition of the Electoral College, saying, “The current system enables a handful of states to become battleground states, and disenfranchises tens of millions of American voters in the most important election in the nation. By amending the Constitution to abolish the Electoral College, and replacing it with a system in which the winner is the candidate with the most votes nationwide, we will ensure that the method of electing the president and vice-president is fair and uniform.”"
She’s a moron. Such an amendment would open the gates to rule by mob rather than rule by law, and we’d be opening the floodgates to a level of corruption & abuse heretofore unseen.
If anything, we should get back to the system the founders put in place, and take the Senate vote away from the popular vote, and put it back to the State legislatures where it belongs.
We’re a representative, federal/democratic Republic, folks, not a direct democracy. There is a difference…
