Ok, here’s another attempt at using a blog/journal editor, that is separate from the one built-into the WordPress CMS.

For some reason, let’s just call it a technology wanderlust, I just can’t be satisfied with the clean, simple, & straightforward editor built-into WP — nope, I have to try and figure out a “better” way. This “better” way generally means either:

  1. a standalone editor, that allows for WYSIWYG editing, or
  2. hacking some type of WYSIWYG capabilities into the WP editor

This post is being done with the 4.00rc2 version of w.Bloggar, which has quite a few nice qualities. It also has one not-so-nice quality — it is a Windows-only app. This is a problem because I’m only using Windows at work, and I’d like to have a unified solution that works both at work and at home (where I’m running Ubuntu Linux). It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it is important nonetheless.

If anyone has any experience getting a WYSIWYG editor (like FCKEditor, TinyMCE, etc…) hacked into WordPress 1.2.1, please let me know.
