Dilbert Gets Off-Point

I like Dilbert — always have. (and Dogbert rocks!) I like his minimalist cartooning style, & I find Scott Adams to be quite insightful & humorous as a writer. As a theologian, however, Adams is lacking.

I’ve been reading Adams’ Dilbert Blog for a while now, and it’s usually quite entertaining. I have, however, ignored his jags of late on Intelligent Design, as I don’t find it to be terribly productive to try and get info on that topic from a forum like the Dilbert Blog.

That said, I did read the posting he just made on the topic of Biblical inerrancy. I haven’t processed exactly what I would say in response to his contention that inerrancy is nonsensical in light of the fact that copying was done for hundreds of years by scribes that Adams describes as “semi-literate, opinionated morons.” Neither have I made it through many of the comments. In the end, I don’t know that I will engage this any further — it’s probably not worth the effort.

I just thought that some of y’all might find it interesting to spend some time reading on the topic…
